My 3.5 years in Lincoln, Nebraska covering the Huskers is something I am truly grateful for. With this being my first "big girl" job, I truly grew into the business woman I am today. I learned how to identify my weaknesses and play into my strengths. I learned how to ask questions, how to take constructive criticism and what having a 'good work ethic' really means . Not to mention, I created friendships that will last a lifetime.

As a life-long Royals fan, covering the 2015 World Series was a dream come true. My favorite memory was sitting with the biggest Royals fan I know (my grandma) for an inning. This was something I will never forget.

If you read the 'about me' page, you know some of the amazing events I've been lucky enough to have covered. 2016 Royals Spring Training ranks as one of my favorites. It marks the beginning of the awesomeness that is baseball. Players are relaxed, loose and having fun. Which as a reporter, is a welcome change from the stressors of the regular season. At spring training it sounds, smells and feels like baseball season. Except EVERYONE is in a good mood. Even the managers. And its that much better when you're the defending World Champions.

Here is something you might not know about me... I am slightly (but not overly) obsessed with Fantasy Football. I truly believe it is one of the greatest sports of all-time. Yes, IMO it is a sport. I am not gifted athletically but in the fantasy football world, I am a pro-bowler. From 2012-2016, I had the honor of being an on-air personality for a national show called 'Fantasy Huddle'. It was by far one of my favorite things I have done. I was able to show personality, argue with co-anchors and voice my opinions. And trust me, when it comes to fantasy, I have a lot of opinions. I have had the opportunity to cover the Kansas Shrine Bowl for the last 4 years. Over the years, I have gotten to know the patient ambassadors of Shriners Hospital. They are such an inspiration and I am so blessed to know them. With each summer that I am asked back, I am truly honored. I can't wait to cover this game and amazing cause in 2017.

THE VLOG

It all started with a blog–a joint blog. At Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, we were asked to do a blog every week. They never really set any guideline or rules, so my coworker Leif and I decided to have a little bit of fun....

About a month before my wedding, we decided to cut our work in half and do a joint blog! GREAT IDEA. Our first post was relating my upcoming wedding to the Royals Home Opener. So clever. It was a hit. Well maybe not, but we enjoyed doing less work while making ourselves laugh. Soon enough we got the idea, "let's just avoid writing altogether and do a video blog!" We went out on the golf course, took my iPhone and made Time Warner Cable SportsChannel's first ever VLOG. Two buddies and a phone, it's all we needed. Why didn't we think about this years ago? Soon enough, the VLOGS were an internet sensation. Okay, not a sensation but our family, friends and most of our coworkers loved them. We kept them simple–filmed them with an iPhone, threw in a GoPro here and there and gave zero craps about jump cuts when it came to editing. That was the beauty of them, they were different, unique and showed personality.  Kind of like me.
