How My Past Experiences Shaped Who I Am Today and How I Run Falco Creative Media
If you’ve ever wondered how a sports reporter-turned-entrepreneur juggles three kids, running a video production company, and pretending to have it all together...well, that’s just my life. (And let’s just say, it’s a little like a circus, but with more coffee and less juggling.)
The truth is, everything I’ve done—whether it was sideline reporting, covering NFL games, chasing after fastballs at Royals games, or managing social media during the frenzy of a live event—has shaped me into the businesswoman I am today. The hustle of sports reporting and videography wasn’t just about knowing which players to interview or how to get that perfect shot in a packed stadium. It taught me how to thrive under pressure, think fast, and make a meaningful impact with content.
Being a female sports reporter in a male-dominated industry had its challenges, but it also fueled my hustle. I learned early on that if you want to stand out, you need to be sharp, confident, and willing to work your tail off. And trust me, I did just that. Whether it was covering the Chiefs’ first playoff win in 20 years or sneaking into the Royals’ locker room after their World Series win, I had to hustle, make my voice heard, and build trust.
Covering sports meant I got to cover some pretty cool events, too... the 2015 ALDS, ALCS, & World Series; 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Sweet 16 & Elite Eight; 2015 NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional Tournament; 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame; 2016 AFC Divisional Round of Playoffs, 2016 Royals Spring Training; 2015-2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Big 12 Championship; 2014-2016 Kansas Shrine Bowls; Big 10 media days; 2012 and 2013 Cotton Bowl; 2014 Gator Bowl, 2012 Big Ten Championship; and 2011-2014 College World Series. And trust me, it was a wild ride from start to finish—whether I was sitting in a locker room post-game or sprinting down the sidelines trying to keep up with a running back.
What I really took away from all of that? The importance of connection. Whether it’s with athletes, coworkers, coaches, or the fans watching at home, sports taught me how to capture moments that resonate—moments that make people feel something. And those connections? They weren’t just limited to sports. They laid the foundation for how I build relationships with my clients today. As much as I’m all about the technical side of media production, I know that at the end of the day, it’s the human connection that makes content truly special.
Fast-forward to today, and here I am running Falco Creative Media—using everything I’ve learned in the sports world and from my former coworkers to help brands create videos that connect, convert, and stand out. My past has taught me how to make other people feel at ease in front of the camera. And let’s be honest, not everyone loves being on camera.
Thanks to my on-air experience, I’m not just behind the camera—I’m also a pro at coaching people on how to look, sound, and feel their best on screen. I know exactly how to guide you through the shoot, whether you're nervous about your first interview or unsure of how to hit your mark. No one wants to look like a deer in headlights, and I’m here to make sure that doesn't happen. I can offer direction, calm nerves, and make sure your personality shines through!
So, that’s me—a sports reporter turned entrepreneur with a bit of caffeine, hustle, and family chaos thrown in. Whether you’re looking for video production, social media magic, or just someone who gets the fast-paced world of media, I’ve got you covered. Let’s make something awesome.
