My Video Production Process

You know you need a video but you’re not entirely sure what kind or where to start. That’s what I am here for! I will be with you every step of the way from our initial communication through the final production. Working closely with my clients and working on a video together is what Falco Creative Media is all about.

First and foremost, I am always open for a pre-production meeting. I love to put a face to a name and get to know a little more about you and your company. This is where we can look at the overview and purpose of the video. What is the story you want told and why do you want to tell it? I am here to help you navigate through these questions. This is where we will discuss who your target audience is and where you would like your video(s) published.

My style of videography is telling a story. After all, every business has a story and every story is unique. So, we will need to figure out the storytelling style you want. For example, do you want mostly b-roll, interviews, voice-over, etc. This is a great time to share any examples of similar videos you like or don’t like.

I also want to incorporate the pacing, the tone and the emotional effect you are going for and how that will translate to your audience. Branding is so incredibly important, so including your personality, colors and font to the video is crucial to me. There is so much competition in this space, so I want to make sure you stand out and bring awareness to your brand and mission.

There are 4 steps to every video project: pre-production, production, post-production and distribution. My goal is to make this process as fun and as simple as possible for you. Once I gather as much information as possible about the creative concept, you can sit back and relax while I bring your vision to life.

I want to explain a little bit about how my process works and what producing a video really looks like for Falco Creative Media.

Pre-production

  • Overview/creative concept meeting- I am always happy to meet in person or over the phone. Whatever is most convenient for you.

  • Script writing/outline/ storyboard. Depending on the video you specify will depend on what this entails.

  • Research/ gathering brand information- Being a longtime reporter, I research every business I work with and make sure I understand your style, brand, concept and everything in between.

  • Video shoot logistics-  Location, scheduling and coordinating interview times. This is generally something I work on closely with the client.

  • Confirm if there will be any additional crew, equipment or rentals needed.

Production:

  • This is the fun part! This is where you sit back and watch me do what I love. With all the time I put into the pre-production process I should need little or no direction at a video shoot. Of course, if there is anything special you think of as the day goes on, please let me know and I will make sure to capture it.

Post-Production:

Post-production is generally the most time consuming for me. Here is the work that goes into it in order for me to deliver you the best possible video in a timely manner.

  • Importing, organizing and logging the footage.

  • Transcribing interviews and any sound.

  • Researching, identifying and downloading the perfect music.

  • The actual editing process- Taking all of the footage and your vision and making it into a compelling and engaging video with a story at the center.

  • Adjusting all audio and music.

  • Adding graphics, animations, effects, logos and final touches.

Distribution:

  • Exporting and compressing into the appropriate file size for your desired platforms (website, facebook, instagram, email blast, etc).

  • Uploading the video to you via Dropbox, Vimeo, hard drive, etc. (whichever you prefer).

  • Downloading and uploading your video to your desired location(s). I am happy to help you brainstorm where you would like these videos to go and when and how they should be distributed.

This is a small glimpse into the world of video production and I have to admit, I love every stage. I use my passion and my dozen years of experience to make sure that you’re kept in the loop, happy and satisfied with the end product.
